What is it?
The whirlpool bath is part of hydrotherapy. It is a medium of liquid heat, consisting of a device that contains water, where inside it vortices are created by an electric turbine. It increases the temperature of the treated areas and, thanks to the eddies, increases the lymphatic and blood circulation, thus helping to absorb swellings and hematomas.
The use of the whirlpool bath is indicated in the following cases:
in acute, subacute and chronic traumatic or inflammatory conditions (muscle bruises, joint sprains, ligament and tendon injuries, arthritis)
in stiff joints
in peripheral vascular diseases
in peripheral nerve injuries
